Mena Alexa Suvari was born on the 29th of September, 1979. She is an American model, fashion designer and actor. Shortly after beginning her career as a model she soon began acting as a guest on 90's programs on television like Boy Meets World and High Incident. She debuted in film with the show Nowhere, that was released in the year 1997. After her performance of American Beauty (for which she was awarded the BAFTA Award) and American Pie which attracted her more attention, she made the transition to major roles. In the following years, she appeared as the protagonist on the screen in Sugar & Spice (2000) with American Pie star Jason Biggs. Spun And Trauma the thriller movie from 2004 was her second appearance. She also starred in the HBO the drama Six Feet Under. The show was an instant hit in 2004, and in 2005 the Screen Actors Guild awarded her the title of one of the outstanding cast members. In 2008 her filmography included Day of the Dead The Mysteries of Pittsburgh The version to The Garden of Eden and several other movies. Suvari was featured on fashion blogs and in various magazines, such Vogue as well as Lancome Paris Adaptive print ads. She has backed and served as an advocate of the African Medical and Research Foundation for many years. In addition, she has been involved on issues of empowerment and empowerment for women and charities which promote research into breast cancer and End Violence Against Women.
